AIA: Inspire Architects Campaign
The American Institute of Architects wanted an anthemic-style video to introduce the public to the idea of architects as critical to fighting climate change, to inspire architects to act, and to motivate civic leaders at all levels of government to seek out architects. The video was built to allow for sections to be repurposed for corresponding social media graphics.
Development Process
Calling all architects
Once a script was developed highlighting the action points and goals of the video, we scrubbed through videos provided as well as stock footage to create the visual story to go along with it, enhanced with illustrative elements and data visualizations.
These visuals were then integrated with the script itself to give the client a clear view of how the story would unfold in a moving format, including descriptions of what would show and how elements would be animated.
After reviews and revisions were incorporated the video was developed, as well as a few derivations for specific audiences. See the finished product above!

Repurposed video stills
Once the video was finalized we were able to repurpose many of the data visualizations to provide a number of different static graphics for Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
Concept
We followed the existing AIA branding guidelines and originally went with the AIA red as the dominant color. After some consideration we chose to use the blue as the dominant color with green as the main accent color in this case to match the tone of the video. The red was kept as an additional accent color, and yellow and grey was also incorporated to keep it consistent with the rest of the AIA materials.
