Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations

During my time at the Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations (OCED), I led digital and visual communications for a $25B+ office within the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) that partners closely with Fortune 10 companies to advance large-scale clean energy projects. In this role, I shaped and stewarded the office’s brand across programs and funding opportunities, developing high-visibility materials used with audiences ranging from Wall Street and Tier-1 media to the White House and the Secretary of Energy’s office.

I oversaw the evolution of OCED’s website and social presence—growing engagement from 84K to 1.6M page views in two years and launching a LinkedIn channel that reached more than 10K followers—while introducing new visual approaches for government across graphics, video, and interactive tools. Along the way, I managed a multidisciplinary contractor team, improved internal processes, and supported fast-turn announcement materials, ensuring everything was clear, consistent, and built to perform in real-world, public-facing contexts.

One of my first tasks at OCED was to establish a fully realized set of branding guidelines and collateral, which was disseminated over 300+ members of the organization, as well as other departments within DOE and the White House. This included concept creation, expanding the color palette, and providing a wide range of templates for both internal and external use.

Another key role was to redesign, update and maintain the OCED website throughout the years, keeping consistent within the overarching department while establishing OCED as a standalone major office with over $25+ billion in funding.

Program-Specific Materials

From educational videos to announcing funding selections and awards, I led the efforts to create suites of graphic toolkits for each program. A selection of these are shown below.

I also led and produced several supporting graphics to educate award recipients and the general public to inform and clarify the NEPA process early in the application process, including an explainer video.
