Old School

I started off as a fine arts major and found my love for illustration along the way. A few of these works are shown below, including detailed digital illustration, inking, pointillism, pastels, and pencil work done throughout my career as an artist. I enjoy using several types of mediums and techniques and am currently exploring ways to combine hand-drawn work on paper with digital art.

Namesake

Katharine Hepburn

A tribute to the actress I was named after, with a nod to one of her best films, Bringing Up Baby. Created in Adobe Illustrator using multiple techniques including gradient mesh and color blocking.

Inktober

Drawing Prompts

Inktober is an annual challenge for all artists to draw one thing a day for a month based on the prompts of that day. They also do a year-round prompt every week for 52 weeks. Below are a few of my favorites. These were hand-drawn using Procreate.

Janet Jackson

Pointillism

A portrait of Janet Jackson combining a depiction of cover art from one of her albums with elements that relate back to who she is. The techniques used here were light pencil sketching and pointillism with ink by hand.

Studies and Personal Projects

Pencils and Pastels

Some real-life studies of artists and objects hand-drawn using pencil, graphite, chalk, and/or pastels. The study of Durer’s Young Hare won a Who’s Who award.

Summer Dance

Pastels

A conceptual piece that imagines what if the seeds of a dandelion were small beings dancing away into the wind. Created using pastels on textured paper.
